Contradiction

The Narrow Path.

The Narrow Path.

The principles of biology cannot be reconciled with the claims of evolution. Consider this example from a biology textbook:

“Today we do not believe that life arises spontaneously from non-life. Life only comes from life but then how did the very first cell come about since this was the very first living thing? It had to come from non living chemicals.” Sylvia Mader, ‘Enquiry into Life’.

That is a complete contradiction. The author’s commitment to evolution results in an irrational and unscientific statement.

Hands up if you think quote mining is for charlatans?

The fact is, anyone who “quote mines” really isn’t worth the discourse as they have already revealed their hand.

    Is this the BIG NEWS!?

The origin of life is a big mystery still to be solved. The existence of God is a mystery solved along time ago. Those that profit from it – just won’t let it go.

The principles of logic cannot be reconciled with the claims of the Bible. Consider this example from 1 John 2:7-8 NLT :

“Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment, for it is an old one you have always had, right from the beginning. This commandment – to love one another – is the same message you heard before. Yet it is also new.”

That is a complete contradiction. The author’s commitment to a belief in a deity results in an irrational and unscientific statement.

  3. You’re effort is illogical because the Bible is true, it is God’s Word and therefore axiomatic, there are no contradictions. If you have found something that you don’t understand then you need to examine more carefully or seek help from someone who knows the Bible. If you want 1 John explained then I would be happy to do that but I would recommend you do it yourself. Your starting place needs to be the Cross, where Jesus laid down his life to take the punishment you deserve. Once you acknowledge the depraved wretch you are, he promises to forgive your sins, whereby you can receive repentance and faith and the Scriptures will be opened to you in the same way they were opened to the two disciples on the road to Emmeaus see Luke 24: 25,35.

By the way, John’s letter is not scientific, it is prose, a letter written to those in the early church from a man who, some years before, spent time as one of Jesus’s closest companions. He had since seen all those apostles of Jesus persecuted and murdered and many more were suffering as a result of their declaration of Jesus Christ as Lord and the risen saviour. The story of the early church is incredible. I have heard many try to rationalise it, comparing it to contemporary sects, cults or mankind’s false religions but their is no parallel to the inexplicable behaviour of those Apostles and Disciples who gave their lives for the good news to be heard for their generation and those to follow. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.

By the way, Sylvia Mader’s quote is not scientific, it is prose, a brief passage from a book for children.

The story of the early church is incredible. I have heard many try to rationalise it, comparing it to contemporary sects, cults or other very similar religions but there is no parallel to the inexplicable behaviour of those Apostles and Disciples who gave their lives, apart from hundreds of Muslims who have willingly blown themselves up for their religion. Allahu Akbar, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.

  5. Excellent, I do believe we have made progress. You have made a clear admission of your worldview which is to deny God by putting your faith in evolution, you call it your axiom. However, Romans 1, 18-21 declares “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

By seeking to compare the behaviour of Jesus and the early church with Muslim terrorists you are showing the futility of your logic and the depths of ignorance in which you wallow. I say these things in love because I care and you really are demonstrating how little you know about the Christian Gospel. You wont even listen to what it is you are wilfully rejecting. You have placed yourself in opposition to God and the Bible says that it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10). Please reconsider your terrifying plight.

    Axiom
Noun.- A statement or proposition that is regarded as being established, accepted, or self-evidently true.
I would say that a three-toed horse being related to a one-toed horse is clearly established, accepted and self evidently true. Therefore I would say that evolution is clearly axiomatic. This is not a matter of faith. It is a matter of stating the obvious.

You said that there is no parallel to the Christian disciples and apostles who freely gave their lives for their faith. I am merely pointing out that there quite clearly are parallels. In fact I can’t think of any religion that doesn’t have its martyrs.
    My logic is sound.

Please reconsider YOUR terrifying plight if you continue to bear false witness with your quote mining and deliberate misrepresentation of the views of others.

    Adrian,

I see that you have started to remove some of the more spurious science quotes from previous posts. – Well done.

Now if you really want to save some souls, why don’t you contact your friends at Talk Origins and the ICR to warn them of THEIR impending fate if they continue with their quote mining.

Adrian, you said, “The principles of biology cannot be reconciled with the claims of evolution.”

To the eight bloggers who ‘like’ this post…
EVOLUTION IS THE STUDY OF HOW LIFE EVOLVES, NOT HOW IT BEGAN!
Therefore Sylvia Mader’s quote has nothing to do with ‘the claims of evolution.’

So why have you ‘liked’ it?
Is it because of the great picture? If so, fair enough. It really is a lovely picture.
Or do you share Adrian’s misunderstanding of evolution?
Or perhaps like Adrian, you think it fair to quote-mine even if all it does is show your ignorance.
Maybe you like his post because you genuinely think that a reasoned argument can be defeated with the line…
“You’re effort is illogical because the Bible is true, it is God’s Word and therefore axiomatic, there are no contradictions.”
Or ‘I could give you the answer but I’m not going to.’ (Please excuse the paraphrasing.)
Or do you think that direct contradictions in the Bible don’t count because they are ‘prose’? But a direct contradiction in a children’s book is proof that evolution isn’t real?

Come on people, you’ve liked it. Tell me why?

    Two months, no answers.

The real reason three of the eight people have ‘liked’ your post is because they are trying to sell their get-rich-quick money making schemes. They ‘like’ any blog they can find, purely as free advertising.

The other three of the eight have liked this blog because you have tricked them with your quote-mining and confusion regarding different scientific theories. By deliberately misrepresenting Mader’s views, you have fooled them. Well done. Ray Comfort would be proud of you.

  10. Thank you for you post. Your agenda is clear. Please Sir, continue.
